Message Over Time
Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 October 2026
These terms govern your use of the Message Over Time service and website. Message Over Time (MOT) is the service brand referred to as ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ below. Read these terms with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and the package information shown before a purchase.
1. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 to create an account or buy a storage package. Children may be named as future recipients; doing so does not create an account for them. Do not create an account for another person without authority.
Keep your account and contact details accurate, protect your sign-in access and tell us if you suspect unauthorised use. You are responsible for the content you upload and the instructions you give us.
2. What the service provides
MOT lets you record or upload content, select recipients and set a future release date. Public community features, including One Moment, One Place and Human Advice, have their own visibility choices.
Features marked coming soon are not included as an available service. Paid storage activation, expiry handling and purchase verification must be ready before paid packages are activated. A checkout return page alone does not prove payment or activate storage.
3. Storage packages and payments
Launch packages are one-time purchases for one private video of up to five minutes, covering the storage period stated for that package. There is no subscription or automatic renewal. The storage period runs from the original storage date and the selected release date must fall within it.
The package description and Paddle checkout show the applicable currency, price and tax. Where Paddle processes a purchase, Paddle acts as the merchant of record and authorised reseller, handles payment and applicable transaction taxes, and supplies the purchase receipt. Paddle’s buyer terms also apply to that transaction.
The proposed free option covers up to twelve months. Its expiry and deletion process will be confirmed before activation. Do not assume that an upload currently receives a paid term or automatic twelve-month deletion. Keep an independent copy of content you cannot replace.
4. Release instructions and recipients
You are responsible for selecting the correct recipients and maintaining current contact information. Recipient notifications and message access depend on the selected release conditions and the service’s available features. An email notification does not guarantee that someone receives, opens or watches a message.
We do not promise uninterrupted operation or guaranteed delivery over a person’s lifetime. Contact support promptly if you need to stop a scheduled release and wait for confirmation. Cancellation of a release is separate from a refund request.
5. Your content and visibility
You retain ownership of your content. You grant MOT permission to store, process, encode and display it as necessary to operate the service and follow your sharing instructions. Publicly shared content may be viewed, copied or shared by others; removing it from MOT cannot remove copies made elsewhere.
Only upload content you own or have permission to use and share. Obtain any necessary permission from people whose personal information you include, and from a parent or guardian where appropriate. Avoid placing passwords, financial access details or other sensitive secrets in messages.
6. Acceptable use and moderation
Do not use MOT for unlawful content, harassment, threats, fraud, impersonation, exploitation, privacy violations or infringement of another person’s rights. Do not interfere with the service, bypass access controls or upload malicious software.
We may restrict access to content or accounts to investigate abuse, protect users, meet legal obligations or enforce these terms. You can contact support about a restriction or content complaint.
7. Recorded will readings
Recorded Will Reading is coming soon. It is intended to accompany a separately prepared legal will and use verified attorney release controls. It is not will drafting, legal advice, a substitute for a valid will or an automatic transfer of estate assets. Attorney professional fees are separate from any MOT connection fee.
8. Refunds, closure and service changes
Refund requests are handled under our Refund Policy, Paddle’s applicable buyer rules and mandatory consumer rights. A refund may end access to the associated paid package; support will confirm what happens to your message and release instructions.
Contact support to request account closure or deletion. Legal, security and transaction records may need to be retained as described in our Privacy Policy. If we materially change these terms or a purchased service, we will provide notice where required and respect applicable consumer remedies.
9. Responsibilities and consumer rights
MOT is not an emergency communication channel or the sole place to store a legal document or irreplaceable file. Internet, email and third-party service failures can affect availability. Keep backup copies and alternative arrangements for important communications.
Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Contact support if the service is faulty or does not match its description.
